GOD MOVES IN GALLION

Hello, Apostolic Crusaders of Ohio !

My name is Stephanie and my husband Brian and I are youth leaders at our church, Apostolic Tabernacle, in Galion , Ohio . I've been dying to tell the world about all the great things God is doing at our church and this AC Blog seemed like a good place to start!

Just five short months ago in October of 2007 we had our very first service at Apostolic Tabernacle. My pastor, Dr. Ron Rogers made the decision to obey God and begin a work in Galion , Ohio and the outcome has been truly amazing! God supplied us with everything we needed right from the start, including every piece of equipment in our sanctuary! Everything you can think of, including drums, a parlor grand piano, the sound system with amps and speakers, cordless microphones, chairs and pews were ALL given to us! Another thing that God provided was the building we're in. Our building has 9,468 sq. ft. of space with 10 classrooms, 5 restrooms 2 fellowship halls and a kitchen! But more important than all of that is how God is supplying us with wonderful people who are hungry for God - and most of them are YOUNG PEOPLE!

When our church first started back in October we only had two youth members who attended. Today we have 9 teens that come regularly, and they are constantly bringing their friends to church too. The majority of these young people have not been raised in the Apostolic faith. They might not understand everything there is to know about salvation, or oneness, or holiness just yet. But what they do understand is that they feel something REAL when they come to our church. And they tell people about it!

We recently started selling candy bars as a fundraiser for our youth department. The day that the candy bars were brought home, one of our youngest members, (Josh – who is 12) saw the candy bars and decided to get started. Shortly after that, his parents realized he had left the house and two whole cases of candy bars were missing! It made them a little nervous. Well, when Josh got home his parents asked him what in the world he had been up to and he simply replied, “I was out selling candy bars for the church.” Then he began to pull out all kinds of money from his pockets, in his shirt, his coat, his pants, everywhere . His parents were amazed, (as were we) that within a few hours Josh had sold $106.00 worth of candy bars! The best part about it is that while Josh was out walking around the town of Galion selling candy, he was also telling people about our church! He was inviting people to come to church AND raising money for the youth group AND nobody had to tell him to do it! He did it all on his own because he is excited about what God is doing in Galion!

I hope that many of you out there who read this will be inspired to step up and do something for God in your community. Get excited about what's going on at your church! Tell people about the goodness of God! Tell everyone you know and invite them to church so they can see for themselves how truly wonderful the Lord is!
